During this summer season, the CNA is delighted to present The hand that topples the tower – a two-person exhibition by Vanessa Brown and Mike Bourscheid at Waassertuerm + Pomhouse. From May 6 to August 20 the two different artistic approaches will come together on the emblematic former industrial site in Dudelange to immerse the visitor in a multi-media experience.
In the exhibition space at the foot of the tower, Luxembourgish artist Mike Bourscheid will present a photographic series inspired by the water tower's architecture, playfully re-interpreting its pillared stature in human form. The interior of the former water tank will be dedicated to the artist's Sunny Side Up and other sorrowful stories, consisting of a projection of his new film Agnes, in which he takes on different roles, accompanied by sculptures presenting several costumes from the film. Meanwhile, the old pumping station Pomhouse will host Canadian artist Vanessa Brown's >>>000 / Gravity, which includes evocative projections and installations exploring the concept of holes as symbolic representations of human desire, the relativity of time, and our place in the galaxy.

Pour cette saison estivale, le CNA est ravi de présenter l'exposition collective The Hand that topples the Tower – des artistes Vanessa Brown et Mike Bourscheid au Waassertuerm+Pomhouse. Du 6 mai au 20 août, les deux propositions artistiques seront présentées conjointement dans l'ancien site industriel emblématique de Dudelange et inviteront le visiteur à plonger dans une expérience multimédia.
Dans l'espace d'exposition du socle de la tour, l'artiste luxembourgeois Mike Bourscheid présentera une série photographique inspirée de l'architecture du château d'eau, réinterprétant de manière ludique sa stature à piliers sous forme humaine. La cuve de l'ancien réservoir d'eau accueillera quant à elle l'installation Sunny Side Up and other sorrowful stories, une projection du court métrage Agnes produit par l'artiste, dans lequel il joue/interprète différents rôles, accompagné de sculptures présentant/reprenant certains costumes utilisés dans le film. Parallèlement, l'ancienne station de pompage Pomhouse accueillera le projet >>>000 / Gravity de l'artiste canadienne Vanessa Brown explorant le concept de trous en tant que représentations symboliques du désir humain, de la relativité du temps et de notre place dans la galaxie.
